“Connecting care practitioners, patients & their families with health and social care beds”
We have a national crisis in bed availability.
- Between quarter 2 in 2010/11 and quarter 2 in 2016/17, the number of overnight beds fell by 14,000 across England
- Over the same period, the number of mental health beds fell by a fifth. Pressures within Mental Health services are particularly acute
- In 2000, we had an average of 3.78 beds per 1000 people. By 2016, this dropped to 2.35 beds
